DISTRIBUTED POWER
Outdoor Distributed Powering Solutions
The advanced capabilities of today’s 5G-ready small cells mean added power requirements. Increased data traffic requires more computational power. One of the challenges operators face is securing power for each of the small cell sites in a cost effective and timely fashion. Distributed powering has the potential to save operators b
oth time and money for dense small cell deployment by minimizing the number of utility grid tap connections. The DPX Power Hub enclosure houses the main power conversion equipment to convert the incoming AC voltage to Fault Managed Power distributed over copper cable to a DPX Downconverter that in turn converts it to a usable voltage to power the load.
A key feature of Fault Managed Power Systems is that there is no power limit imposed under normal operation but energy transferred under a fault condition is precisely limited to mitigate shock and fire hazard.

DISTRIBUTED POWER TRANSPORT (CLASS 4)
MNOs will deploy 5G small cells in a range of urban locations, on the sides of buildings, on bus shelters, strand mount, fixed to streetlights, utility poles, or other street furniture. Providing both power and backup solutions to these cells is not straightforward and requires careful and advanced planning. The Alpha LP36 Remote Line Power (RLP) system Is the leading solution for remotely powering outdoor small cells. The centralized up con
verters can convert a single utility AC grid connection into power for multiple small cells using copper cable to deliver the current Sealed down converters can be mounted in harsh outdoor environments adjacent to the small cell. These converters can be mounted on poles. In handholes or on an aerial strand providing the ability to cycle the power without the need for a technician truck roll.

REMOTE LINE POWER (RFT-V)
In-Building Distributed Powering Solutions
In buildings and campuses, powering remote devices is transitioning away from an AC outlet and economy UPS and moving toward powering end devices remotely using conventional copper cables. For indoor applications, the Alpha® eLimiter+ transforms a single connection to the electrical grid to power for up to 36 remote devices.
The Alpha® eLimiter+ meets the safety requirements for NEC® Class 2 circuits, lowering TCO and eliminating the need for licensed electricians. All Alpha remote power systems include a feature to remotely power the end device on and off, significantly reducing the number of technician visits to the remote devices.
